Are you tired of receiving connection requests on LinkedIn from people you don't know? Do you firmly click the 'ignore' button when a complete stranger tries to connect with you?
The next time you receive an unsolicited connection request, instead of immediately dismissing it, try responding with the following mail.
Hi there
Many thanks for contacting me.
I've set myself a little 'LinkedIn Law' in relation to connection requests. It is that I must get to know the person before connecting with them.
This is so I can:
- refer opportunities of quality to my clients and connections.
- Facilitate introductions for my clients and connections to begin new relationships.
- help my clients and connections to grow their businesses.
Before we connect, it would be great to know you and your business to see to see if we can be of assistance to each other.
Perhaps we could have a chat?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
If there is a genuine interest in connecting for the right reasons, you should receive a reply to your mail. If you don't receive a reply, simply 'ignore' the request and carry on developing your relationship with your existing quality connections.
Why not try this approach and share how it works for you.
